Sandblasting is an industrial surface cleaning technique based on the projection of an abrasive material together with pressurized air. Sand was the traditional abrasive, from which the name comes, but nowadays materials such as aluminum silicate, glass microspheres, pumice stone, bicarbonate, vegetable shot, brown corundum, white corundum, plastic shot or steel shot are used for sandblasting.
